DR.S.RAMANANDA SHETTY, VICE-CHANCELLOR OF RGUHS
Dr S. Ramananda Shetty was born in 1950 in an agricultural family. He hails from a village near Kundapur in Coastal District of Dakshina Kannada.
After completing, B.Sc, from Mysore University, he joined Government Dental College to pursue BDS course and completed MDS in the subject of prosthodontics from KMC Manipal.
Prior to joining Government Dental College as teaching faculty he had served in ground-breaking Institute like KMC Manipal. In state’s services he was promoted to the post of Professor and HOD and later became Principal of Government Dental College, Bangalore in 2001. He was President of Indian Prosthodontic Society, President of Prosthodontic Forum, Member of Dental Council of India, Member of Karnataka Medical Council, Chairman Para Medical Board, and Chairman Selection Committee for PG and UG candidates for Para Medical Courses, President, Karnataka Nursing Council, Chairman and Member Secretary of many committees constituted by the Government.
As a Principal Government Dental College Bangalore, he refined and transformed Government Dental College, Bangalore, into most modern Government Dental Institute in the country today.
